Since every business has its own energy use profile and needs, the Solutions for Business program offers incentives for a range of energy efficiency strategies, summarized below. Additional details are listed in the application files.
Prescriptive: Order off the Menu
Customers can choose from a prescriptive list of typical energy efficiency measures with fixed rebate levels. These apply to existing buildings (retrofit) and new construction projects. Small businesses and schools also qualify for the Direct Install approach. Prescriptive incentives include:
- Lighting rebates from $5 to $75 per unit.
- Refrigeration rebates from $5 to $200 per unit
- Motors and VSD rebates from $1.50 to $50 per horsepower.
- Cooling rebates with a base incentive of up to $50 per ton, plus an efficiency incentive up to $300 per ton.
Custom: Create Your Own
Custom incentives are available for energy-saving projects not included in the list of qualified prescriptive measures. The rebates apply to retrofit and new construction projects and are funded at $0.11/ annual kWh savings.
Energy Studies: Take a Closer Look
Energy Study incentives provide partial reimbursement of feasibility studies, design assistance, commissioning and retro-commissioning services for new or existing facilities. Customers can apply for up to 50 percent of the qualifying study cost to $10,000 per study ($20,000 for retro-commissioning).
Energy Information Services: Measure and Manage
A simple meter upgrade and our Energy Information Services (EIS) provide a quick-read summary of all the information you need to manage your energy budget. Large customers can apply for a rebate of 75% of the cost of the installing a new meter and setup fees, up to a maximum of $12,000 per year. Application Process
To apply for a Prescriptive, Custom or Energy Studies rebate, follow the steps listed below:

Submit a Pre-Notification Application to reserve incentive funding for 120 days (required for retrofit projects with delamping)

Install the qualified technology

Complete, sign, and submit the Final Application with documentation when project is complete

Receive your rebate 4 to 6 weeks after final approval.
Note: Pre- and post-inspections may be required. All participants are strongly encouraged to submit a Pre-Notification Application to pre-approve incentive levels and to reserve funding. A Pre-Notification Application and pre-inspection are required to receive an incentive for the delamping measure. Applications must be submitted within 6 months of project completion or will be deemed ineligible for payment.
