City of Phoenix: Motors, VSDs, HVAC, Lighting
The City of Phoenix received $825,000 from APS’ Solutions for Business program and Renewable Energy Incentive Program for several energy-efficiency projects and one solar energy project. The city is expected to save more than $16.7 million in electricity costs over the life of the installations. These projects will save enough energy to power 19,500 Arizona homes for one year.
Maricopa Community College District [Off-site link]
The Maricopa Community Colleges received $270,000 in APS rebates to install energy-efficient motors, chillers, lighting and refrigeration at three of the District’s college campuses. The new equipment is projected to save $2.7 million in electricity costs over its operating life. The Maricopa Community College District gave APS an ‘A+’ for “helping make it a wise steward of taxpayer money,” according to Chancellor Rufus Glasper.
